In the previous post, we took a look at the driving force behind QR Codes potential. This is more and more consumers purchasing smart phones. This is imperative to the success of QR Codes because smart phones are the tools used by consumers to decode all the QR Codes you are creating for your business. In this post, we take a look at the results of bar code scanning from one year to the next.
ScanLife.com periodically publishes reports and statistics about all types of bar code scanning. I particularly enjoy the graphics they provide when they show growth of bar code scanning quarter over quarter or year over year. As you can see from the graphic above, the rate at which codes are being scanned is increasing significantly.
In the second quarter of 2010, ScanLife.com found, there were approximately 10 scans per every minute. These scans come from “their apps, other apps, their codes and other codes.” Fast forward to the second quarter of 2011 there are now 60 scans per every minute. Broken down this is one scan every second!
Pretty impressive growth that shows consumers are clearly adopting and using QR Codes.
